The Oldham Project

Picture
The Oldham Project currently provides free portraits to anyone suffering from a life-threatening or terminal illness. We also offer two specific programs, "Be Bold, Feel Beautiful" and "Kourageous Kids", specifically photographing women and children. Our children's program offers children, who are terminally ill, the opportunity to 'escape' the treatment, needles and hospitals, to participate in a photo shoot of their design. We have costumes, props, hats and children are allowed to bring anything they'd like to be photographed with. They have the opportunity to feel like a 'celebrity' while preserving these memories for their parents.  Learn more at www.theoldhamproject.org

Want to help them & have fun at the same time???

Importance of Education...

Picture
February 29th only comes once every four years so what better way to spend it than joining the Village Summit, Men Making a Difference, New World Flood, Lunch with a Purpose & the greater Lansing community as we celebrate inspiration fought for. There will be dinner, amazing cupcakes from The Cupcake Diva herself, lots of inspiring speakers & projects and maybe even a surprise performance...

In honor of Black History Month, we want you to think about your hopes & dreams then research some of the great African American contributions to whatever they may be… These could be jobs that were done, inventions that were made or simply the motivation that can be drawn from one’s ability to overcome adversity. We hope that you will GO out & seek information- libraries, museums, communication with groups or individuals... Most importantly we want you to learn something that inspires you then share it with us in the form of an essay, poem, picture or video at the event- see rules below.

"I think education is power. I think that being able to communicate with people is power. One of my main goals on the planet is to encourage people to empower themselves."

Lunch With A Purpose & Ingham Regional Healthcare Foundation
"CUTS FOR CANCER"

Picture
The Lunch With A Purpose, Inc. partnered with the Ingham Regional Health Foundation (IRHF) and raised awareness and over $22,000 for their breast cancer research center.

Partnering with the IRHF will allow us to continue to bring awareness to the fight against cancer.

Spearheading this partnership was Spartan great and former NFL running back Todd TJ Duckett, co-founder of the LWP Foundation.  Along with Duckett,  current and former Spartans, as well as other active members of the Lansing community, we reached out in an effort to get everyone involved in raising awareness and funds for the Ingham Regional Healthcare Foundation.  Special thanks to the participants (left to right in photo:  Chris VanWyck, Todd Duckett, Michael Doherty, Eric Frohriep, Dujuan Wiley!
